How to Generate More Google Reviews for Your Business

Though word of mouth still reigns supreme when it comes to purchase recommendations, one of the most common ways your potential customers become confident in your product is through reviews.

It makes things easier when, upon Googling your business’s name, the reviews pop right up. In fact, the reviews section of your Google My Business listing may be the only thing searchers even look at. This is convenient for businesses with loads of great reviews. Unfortunately, if your listing has primarily negative reviews or very few at all, it can be hugely detrimental.

Here at Blue Laser Digital, we can help you generate more reviews, respond to your customers and keep that star rating high.

How to Get Your Google Reviews Link

Before you can get on your way toward desirable Google reviews, you need to know how to get your Google reviews link through your Google My Business listing. You’ll be able to share your link on your website and social media accounts, encouraging loyal customers to interact with the listing and share their positive experiences.

Here are the quick and easy steps to generate your Google reviews link:

1. Log in to your Google My Business account.

Under Admin Credentials, log in to your Google My Business account. In order to update the business information in your Google listing, you’ll need admin access. If you don’t have admin access, Blue Laser Digital makes it easy to add or remove managers to your Google My Business page.

2. Navigate to the Info section from the sidebar menu.

From your business dashboard, navigate to the sidebar menu. You’ll see various links to navigate through your Google My Business sections and update your business information. Click the Info section.

3. Update your information.

Before you start sharing your Google reviews link, it’s important that all of the information in your Google My Business listing is correct. Take a moment to look over everything from your business name and address to your business hours and phone number. If some information is wrong, your reviewers won’t be sure they’re reviewing the right business.

4. Create your Short Name for your business.

Before you receive your reviews link, Google will ask you to make a Short Name for your business. This will make it easier for customers to find you when they search in Google Maps or through a regular Google search. Keep in mind you can’t use spaces in your Short Name, and that you can only change this three times a year, so choose wisely.

5. Navigate back to the home dashboard.

With your business information updated and your Short Name created, you can now receive your Google reviews link. From the sidebar menu, click the Home button.

6. Click “Get More Reviews.”

On your Google My Business home page, you’ll see a panel that says “Get More Reviews” with a short link attached. This is your personalized Google business review link. Share that link wherever you can. When customers click it, it will direct them to a window within Google Maps where they can write a review about their experience with your business and rate it between one and five stars.

It’s as easy as that; you’re now ready to share your link with customers and start generating reviews!

Google Reviews Pro Tip:

Though often overlooked, the most important part of your Google My Business reviews is to respond to every review you get. Whether it’s a glowing five-star review from a model customer or a negative one-star review from someone who had a poor experience, other potential customers will take notice if you’re responding. It shows them not only that you care to thank your customers for positive reviews, but that you’re working to make the experience better for customers who have left negative reviews. Listening to your customers is important and responding to your reviews is a great way to show you value your customers.

Keep an Eye on Your Reviews

Now that you’ve begun to generate more reviews, don’t just forget about your business listing. Through your Google My Business dashboard, you can even filter through reviews you haven’t yet responded to, making it easy to reply to and keep track of new reviews.

Certain review generation tools such as Grade.us can create customized thank you pages, which will direct customers who have had positive experiences with your business to your reviews page. It will direct customers who have had an unfavorable experience to a private feedback page, too, so you don’t have to worry about ruining your perfect five-star Google rating.

If you want more reviews or need a professional opinion on how to respond, call in the experts. Here at Blue Laser Digital, we can help position your business for better customer experiences, strengthen your brand through Google My Business and expand your business’s audience.
