We believe in the power of branding. Getting your branding right is paramount for your business. What does “branding” mean? Think: logo, colors, company mission, tone, messaging, and more. Recently, we went through a brand overhaul, from “Blue Laser Design” to “Blue Laser Digital”, complete with a new logo, color palette, website, and presence in the Columbus, Ohio digital marketing scene. Because we know how imperative branding is, we wanted to give back to the community that we have been a part of for so many years. During the month of October, we gave businesses in the Columbus, Ohio area a chance to win a free brand overhaul! This included a branding exercise, brand book, and four logo concepts.

No project can start without established branding. Who Your Customers Are
Do your customers fall into a specific age range? What other products and services do they purchase? What are their interests? All of these questions and more must be answered before your brand is established. Who you are targeting is just as important as knowing who you are. Once you know who you are targeting, your marketing becomes tailored specifically to that audience. One of the major mistakes brands make is watering down their marketing in an attempt to reach every single possible person, even if it means sacrificing their core audience. Stick to the people that will spend the most money with you the most often and you will be on the path to growing your business.
How to Target Your Audience
The last step is to determine the best places to target your audience. Once you’ve established who they are, you can then take steps to strategically market to them. Is your audience on Facebook? Are they searching on Google for businesses like you? Would they be a good candidate for email marketing? All of these questions and more can be answered once you know who you are and who your audience is. Not only will this increase your leads, but it is a more effective way to spend your marketing budget.
