How Blue Laser Digital Continues Putting People First Amid COVID-19 Crisis

There’s no better time than now to put people first.

The last few weeks have been a roller coaster for the global economy. With bad news breaking daily about COVID-19, this is without a doubt the most trying time many businesses will face.

Finding a New “Business as Usual”

How can normal operations continue when things have slowed and needs evolving?

That’s the million-dollar question. Our team has seen great success in working remotely. Not only are our employees safe and following social distancing protocols, but we’re able to stay in contact through virtual meetings and telecommunications. A few tools we recommend include:

  • Microsoft Teams – digital communication with coworkers. Our Monday staff meetings have gone online and this tool allows us to see each other and get caught up on priorities.
  • Zoom – video calls for whatever you need.
  • ActiveCollab – every project manager’s dream tool. We use it to make sure every I is dotted and T is crossed for our clients’ projects.
  • Telephone – the most reliable digital communication tool. Need we say more?

With the amount of isolation the world is feeling right now, clarity is desperately needed. While Blue Laser Digital has always used video and phone conference tactics, we’re taking additional steps to minimize evasiveness. Each call, video chat, and email establishes a set agenda to manage meetings, projects, and expectations.

We are also reminded to be patient with each other as we establish new communication patterns. The dog or your grade-schooler might wander into the video chat – no harm is done. We are all making our best efforts as this becomes the “new normal.”

There’s no good time for a crisis, but you should always have a plan in place should one occur. Getting your COVID-19 response out quickly helps streamline communication when everything is up in the air.
