I am passionate about two very similar things: business and golf. I love looking at and understanding the numbers behind the statement, “If a business can find and satisfy customers often enough and cost effectively enough, the result is a profit.” Depending on the day, these numbers can bring more joy than the numbers on my golf scorecards (as long as I avoid the double bogeys). I put myself through THE Ohio State University on an ROTC scholarship and served in the US Navy during Operation Desert Storm. Fast forward to 2018 and I am an entrepreneur in one of the most exciting industries imaginable.
Golf (we have a daughter named Augusta and had a dog named Divot), sports (Go Bucks), kicking back with friends and family, and beating my nieces and nephews at cornhole.
While in the Navy we sank a fishing trawler with 15 tons of cocaine on board. Even more impressive, I ate 10 Skyline Cheese Coney’s in one sitting.
After 25 years of engineering, management, manufacturing, multi-million-dollar projects, tight budgets and deadlines, I have taken my skills to the digital world! The saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” doesn’t apply to me. The team I have working for me, combined with my experience, are aiming to turn the tide of the digital marketing and web design scene in Ohio. The digital marketing and web design world include so many things that excite me, including having a designer on-hand to Photoshop all my pictures!
Gathering with my family to read Harry Potter, going to the movies with my son, watching my daughter’s latest tricks, boats, cars and golf.
My little white lie: “I am 29”, is old enough to legally drink.
I serve as BLD’s Director of Business Development and head of adventure for the office. I am passionate about helping businesses understand and navigate the ever-changing digital marketing landscape, much like navigating one of our beautiful hiking trails we have in the Columbus area. If it grows your business, I want to make it work for you. My wife Denise and I have two beautiful daughters, Ella (9) and Halle (6). In my free time, I give back to the community and serve on several philanthropic boards.
You can find me hiking, reading, playing basketball, tennis and fishing. If it’s active, I enjoy it.
My favorite movie is Willy Wonka.
I started my career with Blue Laser Digital as an intern, and 8 years later, I’m a part of our sales team! With a degree in marketing, I’m extremely passionate about promoting local businesses and being a part of their success. I find it fun to inform our clients on the ever-changing world of marketing and I’m sure the team can agree, I’m full of cheesy analogies that help our clients understand our services. I am also the proud mom of our office dog, Ang!
When I’m not responding to emails, popping in and out of meetings or talking on the phone, I can be found traveling the world!
I’ve scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef, swam at the foot of waterfalls in Puerto Rico, and explored the culture on the islands of Bocas Del Toro. In short, I’m an adventurer at heart.
The Maintenance Man
I have been at Blue Laser since 2011, which makes me the wise veteran of the bunch (or so I tell myself). I have 20+ years of experience in all things digital marketing. I apply my knowledge and experience to help our customers overcome their challenges and provide helpful services to maintain a solid relationship into the future. I believe in good customer service and look forward to working with you.
I enjoy playing pool, watching the Buckeyes, and very short walks on the beach.
I once met Dave Chappelle in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
I treat your projects like I treat my cats; with a warm heart and the utmost care. While I won’t need to leave out a saucer of milk for your business, I will do everything it takes to see your project through to a successful finish. I oversee our designers and developers making sure everything is on task. With over 10 years of project management experience, I ensure that the communication between your business and our team stays top-notch. Whether it’s a last-minute Friday email, or new pictures that need to be added, I’m your go-to person.
Anything outdoors. Camping with my family, rock crawling and backpacking with my husband, ignoring signs to “not feed the wildlife,” spontaneous day trips to random places, and photographing all of nature’s beauty.
My most exciting and longest backpacking trip was the Presidential Mountain Range in New Hampshire. The tallest summit we climbed was 6,288 feet!
My eye for design is never turned off. When I see a bad website, poorly designed logo, or any time a business uses Michigan colors (Go Bucks), I get the urge to put on my cape and turn into Mr. Design (still working on my super hero name). My passion lies in website design and graphic design. I make sure your website not only gives your brand life and tells your story; but helps make you money in the process.
cooking and grilling with my wife, spending time with my sons, building things out of wood, Ohio State football, and bowling (bowled leagues for over 25 years)
I have spent that last 20 years teaching myself this craft.
What do boards games and PPC have in common? They are both things I am passionate about, and they both require strong strategic-thinking skills. While my days of competing with my friends and family at Catan are somewhat over (I still kick their butts during gatherings), I have focused my strategic efforts on maximizing conversions for each AdWords campaign I build. Whether it’s multi-million-dollar campaigns or tight budgets, I enjoy using data to paint a picture of success for you.
Video games, board games, card games, and of course, Excel spreadsheets
I like to think I am vegan. Except on the days where I binge on brisket from the North Market.
Hailing from Russia, I started my trek to the U.S. in 2010 to start on my path towards gaining SEO superpowers (you can call me Wonder Woman). Since then, I have immersed myself in all things Ohio, even obtaining a degree with honors from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). I have also delved into 80’s music (George Michael anyone?), had an amazing daughter, become a cheer mom, all while honing my SEO skills for the past 8 years. Think all SEO is boring? Think again. My goal is to develop game-changing ways to get Google to notice your business, without sacrificing your brand voice.
Collecting frog figurines (yes, that’s a thing), dancing, watching my daughter Gabby cheer, traveling, sports, long walks on the beach, and of course, beer, pizza, and candy.
When I am not in the office, I am a cheer mom. When I am not a cheer mom, I am judging other cheer moms.
Social Media & Content
Originally a Cornhusker (those are from Nebraska), I have been in Columbus for the past 5 years learning everything digital marketing related. I blend a combination of wit, professionalism, humor, and knowledge to inject life into your brand. When I’m not looking for new ways to utilize the social media and content scene for your business, I am an avid Liverpool FC fan, former golf professional, and a seeker of all things adventurous.
Drinking craft beer on the patio with my friends, lifting heavy objects up just to put them back down, and driving with the top off my Jeep even when it’s cold.
I am probably taller than you. That isn’t really that fun, it’s just a fact.
Dictator of Development
Web design & development is a lot like carpentry (minus the mess of sawdust). Both are things that require problem solving, building techniques, and critical thinking. While carpentry and gadgetry are skills I hone during my spare time, web development has been my career passion since 2006. I have experience designing and developing digital marketing solutions for clients across multiple industries. I serve as the leader of the development team and the resident handyman.
Learning new things and making new things (things are my passion).
I like pizza…a lot…like more than any person I know.
Hi, I’m Leila—resident web development aficionado! I’m passionate about helping our clients power their businesses through creative, well-built and interactive websites. My goal is to help you translate your needs into a website that’ll work for your business, using cutting-edge technologies and processes. I’m also an Honors graduate of Millersville University in Pennsylvania with over 7 years of experience in web development, database architecture and software engineering.
Creative writing, biology, hiking, cooking, software development, piano, tinkering and consuming coffee (Lots and lots of coffee).
I’m a Pokémon junkie; I collect the cards, the games, and I’m building a handheld console collection as well! What can I say? I’m still a child at heart.
I am our web development chameleon. The web is perpetually evolving and changing, and so am I. While my skin doesn’t change color with my surroundings, I am always expanding my knowledge of the newest technologies and techniques to improve our process and deliver to our clients. I turn design into functionality and build applications that help meet your goals.
Traveling, kitesurfing, and cycling
I had a close encounter with a shark while kitesurfing in South Africa…too close.
Hey, I’m Thomas, and I code things. I’m one of those lucky people whose after-school hobby evolved into a career (I’ve been writing code since 2003). Aided by my degree in mathematics, I strive to build websites with pixel-perfect precision that look and perform well on all browsers and devices.
I’m an avid hockey fan. My favorite teams are the Red Wings, the Maple Leafs, and our hometown heroes—the Blue Jackets.
I have two cats, and they’re my besties.
In short, I am a problem solver (not the Rubik’s Cube kind). Not only do I love meeting new people and learning about their businesses, but I am also able to tap into their most sought-after business goals and learn how we can help achieve them. I also consider myself the “Bob the Builder” of BLD. I aim to successfully build the bridge between being in business development and being your most trusted consultant when it comes to growing your business and helping you face down the challenges that you may come across.
My Doberman, Grace, being a recreational cook, spending free time with family and friends, and being the #1 fan of my husband’s band!
My husband and I recently bought some land and are going country! We already have 5 beehives!
I work with all new businesses to learn your story, what makes your company unique, and your immediate and long-term goals. I also identify factors that may be restricting your company’s success. Whether support requires a custom website redesign or tailor-made digital strategies, I ensure our team has all the information required to grow and evolve your business.
When I’m not supporting the growth of our clients or Blue Laser Digital, you can find me at an OSU tailgate (Go Bucks!), cheering on our Blue Jackets, or hacking up a golf course or ice rink somewhere in Columbus.
I grew my hair out for almost 3 years and donated 12 inches to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.
Hey, I’m Trevor—Blue Laser Digital’s copywriter. I strive to build palaces out of paragraphs whether I’m writing copy, web content, fiction, or scripts. My interest in writing led me to a degree in Strategic Communication and Professional Writing from Miami University, where I graduated in 2017. Before joining BLD, I worked as a copywriting intern at NetJets and a freelance content writer at Vivial. I can’t wait to help you find the right words to tell your brand’s story.
Musical theatre, Game of Thrones, soccer, tennis, and board games
I can juggle pins…or three of anything else you’d like to see me juggle (nothing sharp, please).
Proponent of Projects
I am passionate about much of the digital world, but as project manager for the Blue Laser Digital production team, I focus on people, projects, and process. As a recovering perfectionist, I enjoy making sure i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed, but more than anything, it’s working with people—our clients and our team—that motivates me professionally and helps to drive our team’s success.
I enjoy traveling, trying new international cuisines (and later attempting to cook them at home), Ohio State football, Latin dance (especially bachata and salsa), and going for bike rides with my dog, Teddy Roosevelt.
If you invite me to karaoke, I basically can’t refuse. My family is very musical; everyone plays an instrument. I play guitar and piano, but really, I just love to sing.
