About the project
Background
Since opening their doors in 1946, Columbus Radiology has spread their mission of transforming radiology to 21 Ohio hospitals and 60 ambulatory care centers. In short, they specialize in placing radiologists in these healthcare institutions around the state.
With 100+ board-certified and trained radiologists, the need surfaced to have a user-friendly interface for people to find their various locations around the state. A website alone wouldn’t suffice. They needed a wow factor to create the ultimate user experience (UX) with flawless visual design.
Combining the best website design practices with a solid direction for their brand, our team was ready to help.
The Challenge
The digital world is a cutthroat place, but having the right systems results in a realm of lead generation. For Columbus Radiology, it was critical to establish a communication system for all locations and healthcare system affiliations.
After hearing the client’s needs, our team saw several opportunities for reworking their legacy content to make it shine on a brand new website fit for their modern audience.

User Experience Designs
The Answer
The discovery phase consisted of defining goals with Columbus Radiology stakeholders and analyzing the entire brand inside and out. We laid out the plan for a website that would not only have beautiful design, but offer a seamless UX.
The new website would include requirements, an actionable sitemap, and a set of UX wireframe drawings optimizing brand storytelling. With one of the main needs being location communication/awareness, we designed an interactive map allowing users to search based on region and healthcare system.
This was the wow factor their website needed. The map helps identify both prospective radiologists wanting to work with them and opportune healthcare administrators looking to hire radiology staff.
A successful brand story balances empathy and authority. We helped the client show off their well-trained staff on a uniquely-designed web page. Individual profiles and education were added for each radiologist. This not only helped find radiologists via SEO, but also displayed specific subspecialties to highlight their overall commitment to excellence.
By taking the time to interview stakeholders, we developed a bullet-proof plan. We created a positive user experience through innovative web design. The website makeover included a custom, interactive map and reimagined staff page all within a brand storytelling framework.
